Farm Nuisance Protection

Okaloosa County's Land Development Code exempts farm operations in the unincorporated county from the Code's requirements to the extent Florida's Right to Farm Act and Agricultural Lands and Practices Act protect them. Growers and ranchers running cropland, pastureland, orchards or livestock operations do not need a county development order for ordinary farming activity, though nonresidential farm buildings still fall under the county's flood hazard construction standards.
