Historic-Cultural Monuments
Orangeburg County grants a multi-year special property tax assessment to historic properties that complete a certified rehabilitation, under County Code §§ 9-38 to 9-43. The length of the break, from five to twenty years, depends on how much of the building's fair market value the owner spends on qualifying repairs, and the county tax assessor, auditor, and treasurer administer it once the property is certified.
