Rodent Control
Section 9-77(e) of Orangeburg County's community development code requires every structure and exterior property in the unincorporated county to stay free of insect and rodent harborage and infestation. Once rodents or insects turn up, the owner or occupant must exterminate them by approved processes that will not injure human health, then take precautions to stop the harborage from coming back.

(e)Insect and rodent harborage. All structures and exterior property shall be kept free from insect and rodent harborage and infestation. Where insects or rodents are found, they shall be promptly exterminated by approved processes which will not be injurious to human health. After pest elimination, proper precautions shall be taken to eliminate rodent harborage and prevent re-infestation.
