Park Drone Restrictions

In Roanoke County, Virginia (outside the independent cities of Roanoke and Salem), launching or landing a drone in a county park is barred unless it happens in an area the director of general services and parks, recreation and tourism has specifically designated for that use, and only under a permit, per County Code § 15-6(7). County employees performing their job duties are exempt with reasonable notice to the director.
