Bike Lane Rules
Rockingham County's only county-specific rule for bicycles on the road is a hands-on-the-handlebars requirement: Sec. 11-19 bars riding a bicycle on any highway in the county without both hands on the handlebars. The county has no separate bike-lane ordinance; cyclists otherwise fall under the state rules of the road adopted by reference in Sec. 11-1.
