Bar & Nightclub Noise

Unincorporated Sumter County exempts most lawfully established businesses from its noise ordinance, but not bars and restaurants serving alcohol on-site. Sumter County Code § 14-134(d) carves business and industry out of the noise article generally, then adds an exception for establishments where on-site consumption of alcoholic beverages occurs or is permitted, meaning bars and nightclubs answer to the same noise standards as any residence.
