Political Signs

In unincorporated Sumter County, anyone who places a campaign sign, poster, or other item of campaign advertising must remove it within 30 days after the final election vote that the item promoted. Removal is unnecessary only where the property owner consents to let signs remain. Violators face fines up to $200.00 and up to 30 days in jail per sign, per day.
