Casa Grande, AZ Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Section 9.16.020(A) of the Casa Grande Municipal Code sets two curfew bands: it is unlawful for a minor under sixteen to be in, about or upon any place in the City away from the minor's residence between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., and unlawful for a minor sixteen or seventeen to do the same between midnight and 5:00 a.m. The section also makes it unlawful for a parent or guardian to knowingly permit, or through insufficient control allow, a minor to violate either curfew band, and unlawful for a parent, guardian or custodian to refuse to take custody of the minor when a law enforcement officer demands it after an arrest or citation.

Section 9.16.030 lists defenses, including being accompanied by a parent or guardian, interstate travel, direct travel to or from employment, an emergency, First Amendment activity, marriage at sixteen or older, and being on the sidewalk in front of the minor's own or a consenting neighbor's home. Section 9.16.040 requires an officer to first ascertain the minor's age and reason for being out, and to withhold a citation or arrest unless satisfied no defense applies; officers may demand that a parent or guardian retrieve the minor or take the minor to a designated location. Each curfew violation is a separate offense under Section 9.16.020(B).
