Section 92.01 sets the town's curfew: no child under the age of 16 years may loiter upon any street, alley or public place within Hamden between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an adult person the parent or guardian has authorized to attend the child. Section 92.02 places the matching duty on parents and guardians, barring them from permitting a child under 16 to loiter during those same hours without the required adult present. Unlike section 92.01, section 92.02 carries a printed penalty: a fine of not more than $50 for each offense under section 92.99.
