Under HBMC Chapter 9.68, it is unlawful for any minor to remain, walk, run, stand, drive, or ride about in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the city between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Exceptions include: minors accompanied by a parent or guardian; minors going to or from lawful employment; minors on emergency errands; minors exercising First Amendment rights (with written notice to police); and minors returning directly home from school or religious activities. Parents who knowingly allow minors to violate the curfew may also be cited.
Minors violating curfew may be detained and released to parents. Parents may be cited for knowingly permitting curfew violations.
