Lyon County, NV Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Section 7.03.01(A) of the Lyon County Code sets the county's curfew for minors: it is unlawful for anyone under the age of eighteen to frequent the streets, alleys or other public or unoccupied grounds or places in Lyon County between 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. Sunday through Thursday nights, and between midnight and 6:00 A.M. on Friday and Saturday nights, which the section clarifies means the Friday-night curfew begins at 12:00 A.M. Saturday and the Saturday-night curfew begins at 12:00 A.M. Sunday. Subsection (B) exempts a minor who is in the company of a parent or guardian, or whose lawful employment makes it necessary to be out during those hours, from the curfew.

Subsection (C) extends responsibility to parents and guardians directly: it is unlawful for a parent, guardian or other person with legal care, custody or control of a minor to allow or permit that minor to loiter about or frequent the streets or other public grounds during the curfew hours without a reasonable, proper and lawful necessity. Subsection (D) splits the penalty by age: an adult, meaning a parent or guardian, who violates the section is guilty of a misdemeanor, while a minor who violates it is instead adjudicated under Nevada Revised Statutes chapter 62, the state's juvenile justice provisions, rather than being charged as an adult offender.
