Lyon County, NV Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 14.07.03 of the Lyon County Code authorizes the director to establish closing hours for county parks, and requires those closing times to be posted in a conspicuous place at each park unless written permission has been given to extend the hours for a special event. That gives the county a park-by-park hours system rather than one countywide closing time set by ordinance, matching how the director already handles other park-specific rules such as posted smoking restrictions under section 14.04.15 and posted vehicle-safety restrictions under section 14.05.05.

The hours section sits in Chapter 7, Park Facilities, alongside section 14.07.01, which bars using or occupying a fee-based facility without first paying the required fee, and section 14.07.02, which requires the director to submit a fee and time-limit schedule to the Board of County Commissioners for its approval, with the schedule and fees taking effect once the board enters an order and remaining subject to change by the board. There is also a separate juvenile curfew tool in section 14.04.18: the director may set a curfew for persons under 18 in a park upon finding conditions warrant it, and once set, a minor may not remain in the park during the curfew period unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or part of a supervised group with at least two adults per fifteen juveniles.

Both the general closing-hours rule and the juvenile curfew are enforced the same way as other park conduct rules: section 14.08.01 makes a violation of Title 14, or of a rule lawfully adopted by the director such as a posted closing time or curfew, a misdemeanor.
