Moore, OK Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Section 10-505 defines a minor as anyone 17 or younger and prohibits that minor from being or remaining on a city street or public place at night starting at 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 1:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings, until 5:00 a.m. each night. 'Remain' specifically includes groups of four or more interacting minors loitering rather than using the streets for ordinary passage. The section lists detailed exceptions: being accompanied by a parent or a parent-authorized adult carrying signed written permission; exercising First Amendment rights with a signed, countersigned written statement of times and purpose; running an emergency errand directed by a parent; being on the sidewalk at home or a next-door neighbor's; returning home within 45 minutes of a school, religious, or civic activity with written parental proof; working within the scope of employment with proof; or engaged in bona fide interstate travel with parental consent.

It is also unlawful for a parent or legal custodian to knowingly permit or, through inefficient control, allow a minor to violate curfew. Enforcement is graduated: on a first violation, a police officer takes the minor to the station or another designated place, notifies the parent, and the municipal court sends written warning notice rather than a citation. Only if the parent or guardian violates the section again, in connection with a second violation by the minor, does that become a prosecutable offense against the parent, punished under the general penalty section, § 1-108, or by a term of community service.
