Township Code § 115-1A(28), amended by Ordinance No. 1856 in 2000, bars any person from being in "a facility or park not equipped for evening activities from dusk to 7:00 a.m., except by special permit issued by the Bureau of Parks and Recreation." The section fixes "dusk" at exactly 10 minutes before sunset rather than leaving it to guesswork, so the closure window shifts with the calendar. The rule sits among the numbered park regulations of Chapter 115, Parks, Playgrounds and School District Grounds, first adopted in 1939 and rewritten in full in 1963, and it works alongside § 115-1A(29), which separately requires a permit for any group or party occupying a park facility at all.

Facilities equipped for evening activity, such as lighted ball fields or courts, are not swept into the dusk closure; the rule targets grounds without lighting or supervision after dark. A related overnight restriction, § 115-1A(33), separately bars parking any vehicle, trailer or recreational vehicle in park property between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. without a Bureau permit. The Department of Parks and Recreation enforces the dusk closure under § 115-2A, and a violation exposes the offender to revocation of any existing park permit under § 115-4A.
