Beaumont, CA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 12.24.010 of the Beaumont Municipal Code sets the hours: no person shall be or remain in any public park between 10:00 p.m. of any day and 6:00 a.m. of the next succeeding day, an eight-hour overnight closure. City employees present in the park performing their duties are exempt. Under subsection C, the Chief of Police or a designee can close any City park whenever, in his best judgment, closure is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the community, and no one can stay in a park after being informed it has been closed by that order.

Section 12.24.020 carves out the overnight hours for an organization or group that has reserved the pavilion for an organized function, but the carve-out does not reach the Chief of Police's closure power in subsection C. The section applies to any public park listed in an attachment to the ordinance, and the Municode text refers to that attachment without reproducing it, so the list of covered parks comes from the attachment. Other chapters tie into these hours. Special events held in parks must also comply with Chapter 12.24 (§ 9.03.120), and permitted events close between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless the permit says otherwise (§ 9.03.140).

Designated skating areas under § 10.38.020 bar skateboarding and roller-skating between sunset and sunrise unless the area is adequately lighted. This chapter is enforced by the Beaumont Enforcement Officer through the citation options in § 12.24.030.
