Shoreline Municipal Code § 8.12.350 sets a single closing rule for every city park area: parks close 45 minutes after sunset and open 45 minutes before sunrise, unless the director of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department posts a different closing or opening time for a particular park. The only carve-out is for people using park facilities as part of an event the department has authorized in advance; everyone else must be out. Section 8.12.550 layers on an administrative sanction too: failing to comply with any provision of this chapter can cost a violator their park or recreation facility use privileges on top of the court fine.

Because the closing time floats with sunset and sunrise rather than a fixed clock hour, the practical curfew shifts through the year; anyone unsure should check posted signage at the specific park, since the director can set custom hours for individual sites such as Richmond Beach Saltwater Park or Shoreview Park.
