Because the curfew sits in the environmental and noise-source overlap of Weston's Code, it functions as the city's specific idling limit rather than a general anti-idling law covering daytime hours; outside the 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. window, idling is judged only under the general excessive-and-unnecessary-noise standard that opens § 52.52(M). Complaints follow § 52.51's sworn-statement or direct-observation procedure. Enforcement runs through Code Compliance and the Broward Sheriff's Office, contracted for Weston policing. Violations are punished under § 2.99: fines up to $1,000 per day for a first offense, up to $5,000 per day for a repeat offense, and up to $15,000 for an irreparable violation, plus up to 60 days imprisonment, with each night of idling charged as a separate offense.
