Eagan, MN Fire Regulations: Wildfire Zones (2026)

Minnesota does experience wildland fire, and the Minnesota DNR maintains a statewide Wildfire Risk Assessment Portal (MN WRAP) and Firewise program. However, the highest wildfire risk in Minnesota is concentrated in the forested and grassland regions of the central and northern parts of the state, not the densely developed southern Twin Cities suburbs. Eagan, in Dakota County, is an established residential and commercial suburb and is not identified as a high-hazard wildland-urban interface (WUI) community requiring special wildfire-zone building codes, ignition-resistant construction, or mandatory defensible-space clearance. The City has no wildfire-overlay zoning district.
