Alpharetta, GA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Alpharetta Code of Ordinances Chapter 10, Article X (Sec. 10-310 through 10-316) regulates mobile food vendors. Sec. 10-312(a) makes it unlawful to sell or offer food from a commissary, mobile retail food vendor, ice cream truck, pushcart or temporary food establishment without a license, except as part of a city-sponsored or sanctioned special event. Applications go to the community development director or designee under Sec. 10-312(b). For a mobile food vendor or pushcart permit, Sec. 10-312(c) requires the vendor's name, the make, model and license plate of the vending unit, owner and operator contact information, the vendor type (street or sidewalk vending unit), a copy of the approved county health department permit, a list of operating locations and times, and signed consent from every property owner where the vendor will operate.

Ice cream truck applications under Sec. 10-312(d) require similar information plus a state department of agriculture permit copy rather than a county health permit. Sec. 10-315 lets the director of community development suspend a license 30 days for a first violation, 90 days for a second within 12 months, and revoke it, with a three-year reapplication bar, after a third; appeal runs to the city administrator within ten business days. Sec. 10-316 fixes the annual license fee at $175.00.
