Alpharetta, GA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Alpharetta Code of Ordinances Sec. 10-313, Article X on mobile food vendors, sets where and when vending can happen. Subsection (a) bars mobile food vendors, except ice cream trucks, from conducting business or operating in the public right-of-way unless it is part of a city-sponsored or sanctioned special event. Subsection (g) confines mobile food vendors, again except ice cream trucks, to commercial zoning districts, with an exception for special events sponsored by a homeowners' association or similar neighborhood organization. Subsection (h) keeps vendors at least 15 feet from any street intersection or pedestrian crosswalk and at least ten feet from any driveway outside a special event.

Subsection (i) requires vendors to stay at least 200 feet from any existing food service establishment, unless operating under a special event permit or under section 4-404's rules for licensed restaurants hosting food trucks. Subsection (j) imposes the same 200-foot buffer from any city-sponsored or sanctioned special event itself. Subsection (k) restricts the hours a vendor may operate at a given property or city block to 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and/or 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., again outside special-event or section 4-404 operation. Subsection (b) separately limits any vendor to eight operating days per calendar month on a given private property, with at least two days between periods, and no more than two vendors on one property at a time.
