Dublin, CA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Vending Zones (2026)

Dublin Municipal Code Section 4.50.160 lists eighteen specific prohibited locations for sidewalk vending, adopted to protect pedestrian and vehicular safety and street access. Vending is barred wherever it would not leave a 48-inch unobstructed sidewalk width next to the curb, where there is no legal parking within 200 feet, within 25 feet of any crosswalk or intersection, within 25 feet of a fire hydrant or fire connection, within 50 feet of a driveway to a Public Safety office or fire station, within 50 feet of active construction, within 10 feet of a litter receptacle or bike rack, within 50 feet of a bus turnout or shelter, within 50 feet of a restaurant's outdoor dining area during its operating hours, within 10 feet of a building entrance or ATM, within 500 feet of a school before 4:00 p.m. on a school day or during a sanctioned school event, within 50 feet of another sidewalk vendor, on any median or landscaped strip between sidewalk and curb, within 200 feet of a certified farmers' market or permitted special event, and immediately adjoining a bike lane absent nearby legal parking.

Section 4.50.160(B) separately bars stationary sidewalk vendors, as opposed to roaming vendors, from operating in areas that are exclusively residential. Section 4.50.150(B)(4) further limits roaming vendors in residential areas to operating between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and equipment cannot be left on the right-of-way overnight, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. in commercial areas and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. in residential areas.
