Las Vegas Municipal Code Chapter 6.96 requires a sidewalk vendor license and layers on a dense set of no-vend buffers. Vendors can't sell within 1,500 feet of a resort hotel, a 20,000-seat sports venue, or a county convention facility; within 1,000 feet of a nonrestricted gaming establishment, the Fremont Street pedestrian mall, or the Downtown Entertainment Overlay District; or within 500 feet of a school (during session hours plus a one-hour buffer), a farmers' market, a special-event zone, or a City park, pool, community center or rec center. Nonstationary vendors also can't linger more than 30 minutes at one spot or vend within 150 feet of another vendor, and no stationary vending is allowed in residential neighborhoods at all. Vending is banned citywide between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. The buffers loosen only inside land zoned exclusively residential, unless that sidewalk directly abuts the restricted site.
Violations & Fines
Vending without a license or violating a license term draws a civil penalty up to $500 per violation via LVMC Chapter 6.02; criminal prosecution can also be pursued with fines up to $500 per offense, and the City can suspend or revoke the vendor's license.
