Tyler bars mobile food units from vacant lots and residential districts, requires an improved parking surface, and limits stops to six consecutive hours before the unit must move at least 50 feet. Units document consent from restaurants within 300 feet.
Under Sec. 10-76, a mobile food unit outside a Food Truck Park may not stop more than six consecutive hours at one location, must then move at least 50 feet and stay away for an hour, and cannot sit on a vacant lot or unimproved surface. Units must provide written documentation from every restaurant within 300 feet of their front door expressly allowing them to operate. Food Truck Parks are a separate principal use: minor parks of two to four units are by-right in commercial and industrial zones, major parks of five or more need site-plan approval, and no park may sit within 100 feet of another.
Vending on a vacant lot, blocking a fire lane or access driveway, or exceeding the six-hour limit violates Sec. 10-76; the Planning Director may revoke transient vendor permits and code enforcement may cite operators.
