The homeowner has the right to request a hearing before the HOA board within 30 days of the denial notice. At the hearing, the board and homeowner discuss the proposal, confirm facts, and attempt to resolve the rejection. The committee must process requests within a reasonable timeframe set by the governing documents. HOAs cannot unreasonably withhold approval for modifications that comply with community standards.
