Under Torrance's home occupation regulations, the business must be a secondary use of the residence and must not generate activity beyond what is typical for a residential neighborhood. Customer or client visits must not create excessive pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Parking for business visitors must not impact neighbors. The home occupation should not generate noise, odors, or other impacts beyond normal residential levels. Businesses requiring the License Review Board's approval (listed in TMC §31.7.3) including alcohol-related businesses, massage establishments, and used auto dealers may not qualify as home occupations.
Excessive customer traffic or disruption to the residential neighborhood may result in revocation of home occupation approval and business license.
