Under Chapter 17.20 of North Las Vegas Municipal Code, home occupations must maintain the residential character of the property. No exterior business signs, logos, lighted letters, illuminated displays, window lettering, sandwich boards, or banners are permitted at the dwelling or in the yard. Commercial vehicles with business lettering parked overnight in driveways may also be restricted in certain residential zones under Title 10 and Title 17 parking rules. Directional signs, feather flags, and freestanding pole signs are not allowed for home-based businesses. Advertising that uses the home address as a walk-in location is discouraged because the business should not generate customer traffic. Commercially zoned locations (C-1, C-2) are available for operators who need signage, and the city sign code separately regulates on-premises commercial signage. HOA communities often impose additional limits beyond the zoning code.
