Full Breakdown

Under City Code § 22.5-75, existing landscaping may be irrigated only two days a week: odd-numbered addresses on Wednesdays and Saturdays, even-numbered addresses (and rights-of-way with no address) on Thursdays and Sundays. Irrigation is banned every day between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., regardless of address. New landscaping gets a 90-day grace period with expanded watering days that step down over time. Hand watering, micro-irrigation, low-volume drip, and rain barrels are exempt from the day/time limits at any time. A Miami-Dade water shortage order under F.A.C. Chapter 40E-21 can override these city rules with tighter restrictions.

Violations & Fines

Code inspectors enforce under City Code § 22.5-78: a written warning for a first violation, a fine up to $75 for a second, and up to $500 for each violation after that, with every day of noncompliance a separate offense.
