Sec. ch. 40E-24. daily, and it is unlawful to run an irrigation system in a wasteful manner, including watering paved areas, sidewalks, driveways, or parking lots. Even-numbered addresses, including those whose irrigation system also covers odd-numbered addresses in the same zone, multifamily buildings, HOAs, and addressless rights-of-way, may irrigate only on Thursday and/or Sunday; odd-numbered addresses may irrigate only on Wednesday and/or Saturday. New landscaping gets a temporary exception: it may be watered once on installation day regardless of the schedule, and plantings 30 days old or less may be irrigated Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.

Low-volume hand watering, micro-irrigation, and rain-harvesting devices are exempt from the day-and-time schedule entirely. The Public Works Director enforces the section jointly with police and code inspectors; a first violation draws no more than one written warning under subsection (e). 00 and/or up to 60 days in the county jail, with each day of violation a separate offense. Property owners facing hardship may apply to the Director's Alternate Method of Compliance Evaluator at no fee and appeal an adverse decision to the Director within 30 days.
