Division 9 of Chapter 74 separately regulates boats and recreational or camping equipment kept in the city's residential and general use (GU) districts. Under Sec. 74-638, a stored or temporarily parked boat cannot exceed 30 feet in length, 102 inches in width or 13 feet six inches in height, only one boat is allowed per premises, and it must sit behind the front building line; if it sits between the house and a side-street lot line, it needs a six-foot wood privacy fence, masonry wall, or trees or shrubs maintained at six feet to screen it.

Boats cannot be used as living quarters, must stay on a secured trailer, and cannot undergo major repair or overhaul work at the site, though hitching a boat to an operable, licensed vehicle for loading or unloading is allowed for up to two hours in a 24-hour period, never in the public right-of-way or swale. Sec. 74-639 covers travel trailers, truck trailers, and motor homes used as temporary living quarters: only one may be parked per single-family or duplex site, it must belong to the resident or a bona-fide out-of-county houseguest (guest parking capped at 14 days), and it must sit in the rear yard or side yard behind the front building line, set back at least the standard side setback and ten feet from the rear line.

That equipment is capped at 30 feet in length and ten feet in height, must display a current registration plate, cannot be used for living, sleeping, housekeeping or storage while parked, and cannot undergo major repairs on site. Both sections trace to Ord. No. 2007-12 (Aug. 22, 2007), and both are enforced by the city's code compliance division under the Land Development Code's general penalty provisions.
