Queen Creek, AZ Mobility & Curb Rules: Bike Lane Rules (2026)

Town Code Section 9-10-10 makes it unlawful to operate a bicycle, other power-driven mobility device, or electric miniature scooter in a public bicycle lane faster than the limit set by the Code or faster than is reasonable and prudent for the conditions. Section 11-2-3 sets that limit: every public bicycle lane in Queen Creek carries a prima facie speed limit of 15 mph regardless of the posted vehicle speed limit on the adjacent roadway, and the Town Traffic Engineer may post a lower limit by sign. The same 15 mph prima facie limit applies to sidewalks, parking lots and multi-use paths under the same section.

Obstruction is covered separately. Section 9-7-5, Stopping, Standing, Or Parking Prohibited, bars parking, standing or stopping a conveyance in a designated turn or bicycle lane anywhere in Town, on public or private property, except when necessary to avoid a traffic conflict or when directed by an Authorized Enforcement Agent. The same section also bars parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, in a marked school crossing zone, or in front of a driveway.

Parents and guardians face separate liability: Section 9-10-20 makes it unlawful for a parent, guardian or custodian to knowingly permit or, through insufficient control, allow a child to violate the bicycle rules in this Article, with the child's own violation charged separately.
