City code Sec. 16-55 requires stand-up electric scooters to be ridden only inside a zone identified and approved by the city or its director of community and economic development or public works. Riders must park scooters the same way bicycles are parked, and (except for riders under 16 on sidewalks) may not use scooters outside the mapped zone. Scooters otherwise follow the bike rules in article IV of chapter 16.
