Full Breakdown

Las Vegas Municipal Code 9.16.030(H) bans building erection, excavation, demolition, alteration or repair, and right-of-way construction or repair in residential districts outside a set window. In a declarant-controlled common-interest community, or more than 300 feet from a residential unit, work is allowed 5 a.m.-6 p.m. April through September and 7 a.m.-6 p.m. October through March. Everywhere else in residential districts, the window is 7 a.m.-6 p.m. year-round. The Director of Community Development (buildings) or the City Traffic Engineer (right-of-way) can issue a permit up to 30 days for urgent-necessity work outside those hours.

Violations & Fines

Working outside the permitted hours without an urgent-necessity permit is a misdemeanor noise violation under LVMC Chapter 9.16, enforceable by code enforcement or police.
