Sec. 38-47(5) bars using any noise-generating motorized landscape maintenance device, defined in Sec. 38-45 to include "leaf blowers, lawn mowers, weed eaters, or chain saws," inside a residential area or within 300 feet of one between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the next morning. That's a flat ten-hour curfew that applies every day of the week, weekday or weekend, with no separate weekend carve-out the way the article's construction-noise and general tables use.

The rule is written around the device, not a decibel reading: if the equipment is motorized and generates noise for yard or landscape work, gas or electric, it's covered the moment it's operated inside a residential area or within that 300-foot buffer during curfew hours. Outside the 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. window, leaf blowers and other landscape equipment aren't specifically time-restricted by this subsection, though a lawn crew running equipment so loudly that it's plainly audible well beyond the property could still be reached by the general nighttime tables in Sec. 38-48 or the residential building/outdoor-place tables in Sec. 38-47(2) and (3) if it crosses those separate distance thresholds during the day.

Landscapers and homeowners doing early-morning or late-evening yard work in a neighborhood need to watch the clock closely: starting a mower or blower at 6:45 a.m. or continuing one past 9:00 p.m. inside or near a residential area is itself the violation, independent of how far the sound actually carries.
