Any officer of the Danbury Police Department, or such member of the Unified Neighborhood Inspection Team (UNIT) duly authorized and designated by the Mayor for the purposes hereof as required by law, shall, upon initial discovery of an abandoned, inoperative or unregistered motor vehicle, affix to that vehicle, in a manner readily visible, a notification sticker containing the following information:a.The date and time when the sticker was affixed;b.A statement that the vehicle must be removed within thirty (30) days;c.A location and telephone number where additional information can be obtained;d.The identity of the affixing officer. In addition, the affixing officer shall inform the Chief of Police in writing of the location and description of each such abandoned, inoperative or unregistered motor vehicle.
