2-34(A) makes it unlawful to park a commercial vehicle within or along any public street or highway where the abutting land is zoned for residential use under the County's Zoning Ordinance. 1, any trailer or semitrailer regardless of whether it is attached to a towing vehicle, and any vehicle with three or more axles. Narrow exceptions exist for utility generators mounted on trailers used to power network facilities during a power outage, and for commercial vehicles temporarily parked while loading or unloading passengers, goods, materials or supplies, engaged in construction work, or performing repair or installation services.

Subsection B separately bans parking any motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer for commercial purposes on a residential street, subject to the same loading, construction and repair exceptions. Where a street forms the boundary between a residential zone and a non-residential zone, subsection E treats the street's centerline as the dividing line, so the ban only applies to the residentially zoned side. A violation of either subsection is punished by a fine of not less than $25 and not more than $100 under subsection F, and the prohibition has been part of the code since at least 1961, most recently amended by Ordinance No. 12-06 in 2012.
