A 'commercial vehicle' under §1202.010 includes any vehicle designed or used for commercial purposes, or with a GVWR ≥12,001 lbs, or designed to transport >8 passengers. Standard pickups and vans with commercial markings under 12,000 lbs are exempt and may park in residential areas during regular business hours. The definition excludes hobby/recreational trailers and service-bodied vehicles ≤8 ft tall, ≤20 ft long, ≤7 ft wide.
