Rockville, MD Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Rockville City Code § 23-27 bars parking a truck on a residential street if it has a rated-load capacity over three-quarters ton, a gross vehicle weight over 10,000 pounds, more than four wheels, or a width of 96 inches or more, unless the owner holds a special permit from the City Manager. Permits cover only trucks up to one ton, 13,000 lbs GVW, six wheels, or 96 inches wide, one per dwelling, and require the City Manager to find no overburden on roads, no harm to the neighborhood, and no safety risk. Buses and truck tractors are barred outright, though camping, boat, and travel trailers are exempt.
