Eastvale, CA Parking Rules: Curb Color Rules (2026)

Eastvale Municipal Code Sec. 040, adopted by Ord. No. 2011-04 in January 2011, is the city's core authority for marking no-parking zones with paint and signage. Subsection (a) makes it unlawful to park or leave a vehicle standing anywhere curbs are painted or signs posted giving notice of the restriction. Subsection (b) does not let the city paint a curb or post a sign on a whim: a restricted-parking or no-stopping zone can only be established after an engineering study and field review document the need and purpose for that specific location, tying restrictions to an actual traffic or safety problem rather than blanket rule-making.

Once the study is complete, subsection (c) obligates the city to actually post signs or paint the curb before the restriction takes effect; without that physical notice, subsection (a) cannot be enforced against a driver. Subsection (d) ties enforcement authority to state law, citing Vehicle Code Sec. 22651, and assigns day-to-day enforcement to city code enforcement personnel, with the city council or its designee setting administrative guidelines and procedures for issuing citations. 130 requires blue curb paint for disabled parking spaces. A driver who parks against a painted curb or posted sign is not just risking a warning: Sec. 220 makes any violation of this chapter an infraction punishable under the fine schedule set by the California Vehicle Code, with each day of continued violation counted as a separate offense.
