Las Vegas, NV Parking Rules: Curb Color Rules (2026)

Under LVMC 11.52.030(A), a red-painted curb or road-surface edge means no parking, whether or not it's paired with a sign, and covers stopping and standing too: even briefly with the engine running. The City Traffic Engineer sets these zones by paint, signage, or both, and a marking isn't enforceable until it's actually posted or painted (LVMC 11.52.010, cross-referenced provisions). Narrow carve-outs exist: tour buses, shuttles, limos and RTC buses may stop up to 30 minutes to load or unload passengers where signage allows it; armored cars and emergency vehicles can stop as long as needed for their business; and drivers may pause briefly at a red curb next to a USPS mail drop box just to deposit mail. Everyone else is out regardless of how short the stop is.
