Ridgewood reserves designated EV charging spaces for charging vehicles only and requires premium permits for Hudson Street Garage charging spaces until noon daily.
Ridgewood has installed designated EV charging spaces in municipal parking facilities including the Hudson Street Garage, the East Ridgewood Avenue/Broad Street lot, and Station Plaza near the Train Station. Charging spaces in the Hudson Street Garage may only be used by vehicles actively charging, and users must hold a Ridgewood premium parking permit until 12:00 noon. Non-charging vehicles parked in EV-designated spaces violate Chapter 265. The village also enforces zoning provisions under Section 190-121.1 regarding electric vehicle supply equipment installation as part of new development site plans.
Non-charging vehicles in EV spaces, or vehicles parked in Hudson Street Garage charging spaces without a premium permit before noon, receive parking tickets and may be towed.
