Ridgewood permits outdoor storage of camping trailers, boats, and boat trailers in residential side or rear yards only, subject to screening and height limits.
Under Chapter 190 (Land Use and Development), Ridgewood allows outdoor storage of private camping trailers, boats, and boat trailers as accessory uses on one- and two-family lots in R-125, R-110, R-1, R-2, and R-3 zones. Storage is restricted to the side or rear yard and must be screened by a fence or hedge so the item is not visible from abutting residential property or any street. Stored items must not exceed six feet in height. Recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers may not be used for sleeping, bathing, toilet functions, food preparation, or general material storage on a permanent or temporary basis.
Violations may result in zoning enforcement actions, daily fines, and orders to remove or properly screen non-conforming RVs, boats, or trailers stored in residential zones.
