Rio Rancho, NM Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

The city traffic administrator designates passenger and freight curb loading zones in Rio Rancho, Sandoval County, and posts signs stating the hours the rules apply. Anyone requesting a zone must obtain a permit and pay the city treasurer $25 per 22-foot stall plus $0.25 per additional foot, renewed yearly. Vehicles in a marked passenger curb loading zone may stop only to load or unload passengers, for no more than three minutes. Freight curb loading zones allow stops for loading, unloading, delivery or pickup of materials for up to 30 minutes; a passenger vehicle may also stop briefly there if it doesn't block waiting freight vehicles.
