Sun Prairie, WI Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

040 restricts parking in designated loading zones to the actual time needed to load or unload goods or merchandise, up to the time limit posted on the sign at each location, once official traffic control devices are installed there. Four specific 15-minute freight loading and unloading zones are named: the first parking stall south of Main Street on the west side of King Street, beginning 30 feet south of the Main Street intersection; the first stall south of Main Street on the east side of Market Street, beginning 25 feet south of that intersection; a stretch of the alley within the parking lot at 252 East Lane Street, running 157 feet west from Market Street; and 70 feet of the north side of Athletic Way, beginning 80 feet east of North Bird Street.

The four zones apply only where the qualifying signs are actually installed and posted; the ordinance sets no citywide default loading-zone limit outside those signed locations. The current version of the loading-zone list was set by Ordinance No. 20 that Ordinance No. 933 rewrote in December 2023.
