060(C) makes it unlawful to stop or park in any parking space designated as an electric vehicle charging stall in a municipal parking lot unless the vehicle parked there is an electric vehicle that is actually plugged into the adjacent charging station. The rule does not apply to vehicles maintaining infrastructure within the municipal lot or performing emergency services, so a utility or maintenance truck servicing the charger itself is exempt. 25(1)(L)(1)(b) or (c), as amended, rather than setting its own definition, so the state's classification controls which vehicles qualify.

060, the same section that sets time limits for the rest of Sun Prairie's municipal lots, including the Angell Street lot, the Park and Ride lot on O'Keeffe Avenue, and the King Street, Municipal Building, and East Lane Street lots, several of which cap parking at two, four, twelve, or twenty-four hours. The electric vehicle charging provision was added to the chapter by Ordinance No. 969, adopted July 15, 2025, layering the charging-stall rule onto the parking-lot structure Ordinance No. 933 had rewritten in December 2023.
