Clifton, NJ Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

every day, to park an omnibus, school bus, school vehicle Type I or Type II, pole trailer, road tractor, trailer, farm trailer, semitrailer, truck tractor, tow truck, any motor vehicle exceeding four tons registered gross weight or exceeding 25 feet in overall length, or any flatbed of any size, on any street, highway, or public place in the City. The chapter carves out several exceptions: vehicles parked to install, maintain, or perform public utility services; vehicles carrying merchandise, goods, tools, or supplies to or from area residents or businesses; vehicles performing services for a premises owner or tenant; and recreational vehicles displaying handicapped plates or permits.

The restriction is enforced citywide and is separate from the street-by-street daytime alternate-side cleaning schedule found earlier in the same chapter, which lists specific hours and days for individual streets. Because the overnight ban targets oversized and commercial vehicles rather than ordinary passenger cars, a resident's sedan or SUV parked on a public street overnight is not, by itself, a violation of § 439-15 unless another posted restriction applies.
