La Grange, MO Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

The City does not run a separate midnight-to-dawn parking ban; instead it regulates duration directly. Section 340.240.E provides that no owner, operator or driver of any motor vehicle shall park in any space on Main Street designated for parking by ordinance and leave it parked continuously in the same place or space in excess of six (6) hours at any one time on Main Street between Jefferson and Lewis Streets, while on all other streets and alleys in the City the limit is twenty-four (24) hours.

Because the clock runs continuously rather than resetting at sunrise, a vehicle parked in the evening and left in the same spot past the six or twenty-four hour mark is in violation even if it was parked legally at first. The same chapter separately bars parking a trailer used for residence purposes on any street or alley without a special permit from the Mayor or City Council (Section 340.240.F), and requires that a parked vehicle's motor be shut off while unattended on City streets (Section 340.240.C). Enforcement of the duration limit falls to the Police Department, which can cite a vehicle found in the same space beyond the applicable window.
