Oak Lawn prohibits on-street parking between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM throughout the village without a valid overnight parking permit. Residents and guests needing overnight street parking must register with the Oak Lawn Police Department.
Village of Oak Lawn Code prohibits parking any vehicle on public streets between the hours of 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM unless the vehicle displays a current overnight parking permit or has been authorized through the police department's guest parking system. Residents may apply for annual overnight permits, and short-term guest passes are available for visitors. The ban applies to all village streets year-round. Additional snow-event parking bans apply when 2 or more inches of snow accumulate, requiring all vehicles off posted snow routes to allow plowing. Parking is also prohibited within 15 feet of fire hydrants and within 20 feet of crosswalks per state and local law. Contact Oak Lawn Police at (708) 422-8292 for permit information.
Overnight parking violations typically result in tickets of $25 to $50 per offense. Snow-route violations carry higher fines of $75 or more plus mandatory towing at owner expense. Repeat or unpaid tickets can lead to vehicle boot or impoundment.
