Westminster, CA Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

The City of Westminster does not impose a citywide overnight curfew on ordinary passenger vehicles in its Municipal Code; instead, overnight parking is governed by the same rules that apply around the clock. Under Westminster Municipal Code Chapter 10.44, no vehicle may remain parked on a public street or alley for more than 72 consecutive hours, and the city counts re-parking within two-tenths of a mile as the same location, so leaving a car overnight repeatedly in one area can trigger this rule. Recreational vehicles may not be parked on city streets overnight without a valid 24-hour RV permit from the Police Department, and large or oversized vehicles exceeding the city's size and weight thresholds are prohibited on all streets at any hour, including overnight. On scheduled street-sweeping days, parking is barred during posted windows of up to eight hours, which often fall in morning hours.
