Lake Elsinore Municipal Code 10.12.130 prohibits parking an oversized vehicle on any residential public street for more than 24 consecutive hours, including any vehicle over 25 feet long, over 96 inches wide, any commercial vehicle, detached trailers or campers, and RVs over 20 feet.
LEMC 10.12.130 makes it unlawful to park on a residential public street, for more than 24 consecutive hours: (A) any motor vehicle, or vehicle with attached trailer, over 25 feet long measured front to rear including extensions (other than RVs); (B) any vehicle over 96 inches wide excluding mirrors; (C) any commercial vehicle as defined in the code; (D) any detached nonmotorized vehicle such as a trailer, trailer coach, two-axle or one-axle camper, boat/watercraft trailer, or farm machinery; and (E) any recreational vehicle over 20 feet long (per California Health and Safety Code Section 18010). The City's ParkSmart program publicizes these limits, and RV pop-outs into the right-of-way are barred by LEMC 10.12.120(B).
An oversized vehicle exceeding the 24-hour residential-street limit is cited under LEMC 10.12.130 and may be removed after 72 hours under LEMC 10.12.140(A). Citations are processed and appealed under California Vehicle Code Sections 40200 through 40230 (LEMC 10.12.170).
