Lake Elsinore Municipal Code 10.12.130 bars parking an RV over 20 feet, or a boat/utility trailer, on any residential street for more than 24 consecutive hours. On private lots, RVs, boats and trailers in the front-yard setback must sit on a conforming driveway.
LEMC 10.12.130(E) makes it unlawful to park a recreational vehicle over 20 feet long (measured front to rear, including extensions) on any public street in a residential district for more than 24 consecutive hours; 'recreational vehicle' takes its meaning from California Health and Safety Code Section 18010. Subsection (D) applies the same 24-hour limit to detached trailers, campers, and boat/watercraft trailers. On private property, LEMC 17.148.140(B) allows trailers, boats and similar equipment in the required front-yard setback only on a driveway or parking space meeting City standards; otherwise they must be behind the setback or in a side or rear yard screened by a solid fence, wall or gate at least six feet tall.
An RV, boat or trailer left on a residential street beyond 24 hours may be cited and, after 72 hours, removed under LEMC 10.12.140(A). Citations are processed under California Vehicle Code Sections 40200 through 40230 per LEMC 10.12.170.
